Today we’re celebrating All Saints Sunday—a time to remember those who came before us and to give thanks that we’re all part of God’s amazing, ever-growing family of love and faith. As we gather, let’s take a deep breath, settle in, and open our hearts to the Spirit who brings us together as one.”

Gathering

The Peace of Christ be with you
And Also With you

Leader: The day is ending, and the light fades from the sky. Let us bring our hearts to rest in the presence of God.
All: God, you are our light in the darkness, our peace at the close of day.

Leader: As the night draws near, we remember your faithfulness. You have been our help and our shelter.
All: We give you thanks, O Lord, for the blessings of this day and the promise of your rest.

Leader: Come, let us worship the Lord, who watches over us through the night.
All: We lift our hearts in praise and trust. Even in the stillness, God is with us

Opening Song – Holy Holy Holy

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinfulness thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in pow’r, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

The Meal: Communion

Sharing the Bread
Leader: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.

Leader: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them to the Lord.

Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Leader: The greatest promise we have of God’s mercy and forgiveness is found in this meal. Here God feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ and EVERYONE is welcome at this table.

Leader:  In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying: “Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

And so tonight, we do the same. We take bread, broken for us, and share it with one another with those sacred words, “The body of Christ given for you.”

Bread is passed to your neighbor, saying: “The body of Christ given for you.”

Sharing the Cup
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying:
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

And so tonight, we take the cup of wine, and we drink together, “The blood of Christ shed for you.”

Wine/Juice is passed to your neighbor, saying: “The blood of Christ shed for you.”

Communion Song – “Eat this Bread”

“Eat this bread, drink this cup,
come to me and never be hungry.
Eat this bread, drink this cup,
trust in me and you will not thirst.”

Post-Bread Blessing

Leader: Now that you have tasted the goodness of God in bread and wine, may you be strengthened by Christ’s presence—known in this meal and in one another. As we continue in joy, may we live as the body of Christ, blessed and broken for the sake of the world.
All: Amen.

We’ll spend the first part of our meal in conversation hearing about our week. You are invited to share stories from your highs and lows from the week as well as where you saw Jesus at work in our world. Then you will be invted to a time of prayer and meditation as we remember all the saints, past and present in our lives.

The Word

The Lord be with you
and also with you

Let us Pray
Gracious God,
By your tender compassion, your word became flesh and dwelt among us that the world might know your love.
Be present with us now. Turn our hearts in trust toward you and in love toward you and in love toward one another.
Through Jesus Christ now and forever.
Amen

Reading – Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

A time for reflection

Lord’s Prayer

7:00 PM – Prayer around the Cross

(All are invited to come near the cross, to touch it, to kneel, or to sit in silent prayer.)

Leader:We gather at the cross of Christ,
remembering those who have gone before us in faith, and trusting in the promise of life eternal.
All: Jesus, remember us when you come into your kingdom.

Leader: Here we bring our grief, our gratitude, our longing, our hope.
All: Jesus, remember us when you come into your kingdom.

Leader: Blessed are you, O Lord our God,
for you have surrounded us with a great cloud of witnesses. With them we give you thanks and praise.

We remember the saints of old — Abraham and Sarah, Moses and Miriam, Mary, Peter, Paul, and all who trusted your promise and followed your call.
All: We give you thanks, O Lord.

Leader: We remember the reformers and renewers of your Church who proclaim and call us back to your grace.
All: We give you thanks, O Lord.

Leader: We remember those who have taught us faith and love, those whose lives have shown us your mercy.
All: We give you thanks, O Lord.

Leader: We remember those we love who now rest in you…

(All are invited to share names aloud or in silence of those who have died.)

All: Into your hands, O Lord, we commend them. May they rest in your eternal light.

Leader: For those still struggling, suffering, or seeking hope
All: Lord, hear our prayer.

Leader: Lord Jesus Christ, you gather your saints in love and mercy. Draw us to your cross; heal us, forgive us, renew us.
All: Jesus, remember us when you come into your kingdom.

(We pause for a time for reflection and for personal prayer.)
