Opening Song – Come Now Is The Time To Worship

Come now is the time to worship
Come now is the time to give your heart
Come just as you are to worship
Come just as you are before your God
Come

One day every tongue
Will confess You are God
One day every knee will bow
Still the greatest treasure remains
For those who gladly choose You now

Come now is the time to worship
Come now is the time to give your heart
Come just as you are to worship
Come just as you are before your God
Come

Willingly we choose to surrender our lives
Willingly our knees will bow
With all our heart soul mind and strength
We gladly choose You now

Come now is the time to worship
Come now is the time to give your heart
Come just as you are to worship
Come just as you are before your God
Come

Come come just as you are come come

Amen.

We’ll spend the first part of our meal in conversation hearing about our week. You are invited to share stories from your highs and lows from the week as well as where you saw Jesus at work in our world.

6:45 PM – The Word

The Lord be with you
and also with you

Prayer

Let us Pray
Gracious God, your Word became flesh and lived among us. In this moment, speak again, in our hearts, through your Word, and in our love for one another. Through Christ, our light and our peace.
All: Amen.

Scripture Reading – Luke 10:38-42

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Reflection

Mary and Martha, in their own ways, show us what it means to live out the two greatest commandments—to love God and to love our neighbor. Their story, placed right between the Good Samaritan and the Lord’s Prayer, isn’t about deciding who got it right or which kind of faith is better, prayer or service. It’s about seeing how both belong together. Each one feeds the other, and together they show us a fuller picture of what it means to follow Jesus.

7:00 PM – Table Discussion

  1. When do you find yourself more often busy like Martha or still like Mary? What helps you find balance between doing and being in your relationship with others?
  2. What are the things that worry you? How do you respond to others when you are overwhelmed?
  3. How might our acts of service (like Martha’s) become expressions of love for God, and how might our prayer or listening (like Mary’s) equip us to love our neighbors more fully?
  4. What might it look like, in your life right now, to sit at Jesus’ feet, and what might it look like to serve him with your hands?

Sharing the Cup

L: Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks,
and gave it for all to drink, saying:
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me.”

Lord’s Prayer
L: Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us, remembering that in this prayer God sees and hears all that our hearts need and long for.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.

And so tonight, we take the cup of wine, and we drink together, “The blood of Christ shed for you.”

Wine/Juice is passed to your neighbor, saying: “The blood of Christ shed for you.”

Communion Song

“Eat this bread, drink this cup,
come to me and never be hungry.
Eat this bread, drink this cup,
trust in me and you will not thirst.”

Sending Song – Go Make A Difference

Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world
Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world

We are the salt of the earth
Called to let the people see
The love of God in you and me
We are the light of the world
Not to be hidden but be seen
Go make a diff’rence in the world

Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world
Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world

We are the hands of Christ
Reaching out to those in need
The face of God for all to see
We are the spirit of hope
We are the voice of peace
Go make a diff’rence in the world

Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world
Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world

So let your love shine on
Let it shine for all to see
Go make a diff’rence in the world
And the Spirit of Christ
Will be with us as we go
Go make a diff’rence in the world

Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world
Go make a diff’rence
We can make a diff’rence
Go make a diff’rence in the world
